A rare opportunity to explore one of Cowdray’s most romantic venues in winter. Dating back to 1550 and set beside the historic ruins, the Walled Garden offers a secluded setting. Wander the garden, step inside the reception rooms, and meet the Cowdray events team alongside a selection of trusted suppliers.

Breathe Well: Breathwork Class

Thursday 15 January | 6:15pm – 7:15pm | Cowdray Hall

Arundel & South Downs Winter Trails

Sunday 18 January | Heyshott to Arundel

Designed by trail runners, this point-to-point winter event showcases the South Downs at their most dramatic. With marathon and 15-mile options, the routes follow quiet tracks, open fields and long stretches of downland before finishing beneath Arundel Castle.

Friday 23 January | 7pm – 9pm | Bignor Hill, South Downs National Park

Marking ten years of the South Downs Dark Skies Reserve, this guided night walk explores one of the park’s darkest areas. Led by a local expert, the experience focuses on night navigation, natural history and the quiet drama of the landscape after dark.

January Evening Dining: The Estate Table

Saturday 31 January | 6:30pm – 10pm | Cowdray Farm Shop Café

A winter dining event inspired by the estate’s fields and storerooms. This three-course menu centres on seasonal produce and Cowdray lamb, with dishes designed to suit January evenings. The night begins with welcome drinks, followed by dinner.

An excellent way to close the month, combining thoughtful food with an unhurried return to your treehouse.
