Getting around: EV buggies
Cowdray is a car-free estate, protecting the ancient beech woodland, the wildlife, and the historic South Downs landscape. From the moment you park at the Welcome Suite, the noise of the outside world drops away and the pace slows down.
To help you move between the woods and the estate's amenities with ease, electric buggies are available to hire for the duration of your stay. They are whisper-quiet, simple to drive, and connect your suite in the trees to the Farm Shop & Café, the Polo Lawns, and the historic ruins.
If you prefer to explore on foot, the woodland trail to the treehouses is a 20-minute+ walk (around 1,000 meters) from the Welcome Suite. While beautiful, we do highly recommend a buggy to make the most of your stay.

The tracks connect you directly to the best of Cowdray. You can drive down for a freshly prepared breakfast at the award-winning Farm Shop & Café, head over to watch a match at the Polo Lawns, or spend an afternoon wandering the historic Tudor ruins. Just keep to the designated pathways so we don't disturb the local wildlife.
The buggy ride up to the treehouse is great fun and having Cowdray farm shop and cafe next door is amazing.
