Cowdray’s Maize Maze is back for the whole of August with a Wild West twist. Set against sweeping views of the Lawns polo fields and Cowdray Ruins, this family-friendly adventure will truly imerse you in the late-summer glory of the British countryside. Explore the golden maze, complete a stamp trail, and enjoy flower picking in the vibrant sunflower and wildflower patch. With haybales to climb, a piano to play, and plenty of scenic photo spots, fun for all ages is guaranteed. Refreshments are available from the Maze Café, with covered seating. Booking is encouraged.

Slip on your cowboy boots and step into a summer evening of country music and Wild West charm. With the golden glow of the Cowdray estate as your backdrop, this high-energy night promises to have you stomping around the dancefloor to country tunes from The Honky Tonk Angels, one of the UK’s finest barn dance bands. Tuck into hearty, locally sourced food from the Maze Café and bar, and let loose, whether it’s whirling on the dance floor or testing your skills on the rodeo bull, there’s something for all ages.
12th - 13th August, 08:00PM - 10:00PM | Petworth House
Step into the stillness of the Deer Park after dark and discover its hidden world by night. This special guided walk invites you to explore the sounds and sights of nocturnal wildlife - listen for the calls of owls, watch for bats flitting overhead, and settle under the stars to await the Perseids meteor shower. With a torch in hand and a blanket under the sky, you’ll share in the quiet wonder of nature’s night shift, all set within the historic parkland of Petworth House. The walk includes some uneven ground, so sturdy footwear is recommended. A peaceful and unforgettable evening for curious minds of all ages.
22nd, 23rd & 24th August, 06:30PM - 11:00PM | Cowdray Estate, The Maize Maze
Following the success of last year’s screenings, Cowdray’s Outdoor Cinema Nights return to the Maize Maze. Choose from three evening showings under the stars, with gates opening at 6:30pm and films starting at sunset. Bring a picnic (but no alcohol please), settle in with a blanket or camping chair, and enjoy the atmosphere. During the day, pop into the marquee for free children's films while exploring the maze and wildflower fields. The perfect balmy summer evening pastime for the whole family.
Friday 22nd August - Rocketman
30th August, 04:00 PM – 11:00 PM | Tinwood Estate
Settle in among the vines for a mellow summer’s afternoon at the Tinwood Garden Party 2025 - a new addition to the calendar, celebrating Sussex sparkling wine and live jazz under open skies. With performances from Tara Macdonald, The Tom Fitzpatrick Band, and The Little BIG Band, guests can expect a smooth soundtrack of swing and soul as they relax in the vineyard ahead of the harvest season. Your ticket includes a glass of Tinwood on arrival, with alfresco dining and a full bar available throughout the day.
(This is a 25+ event. Groups of 8 or more will receive a complimentary bottle of Tinwood to share.)
